Mamadou Athie performs Dan Turner, an archivist and curator who loves to seek out previous VHS tapes and encounter one thing by no means seen earlier than inside them. Melody gets to know the tenants of the Visser as she uncovers its secrets while Dan watches, but it turns out that Dan is much more than a passive observer.
At its best, “Archive 81” taps into that sense that there’s one thing actually malevolent hiding in plain sight. It could possibly be a room within the basement of your house constructing, a VHS tape gathering mud within the nook of a used bookstore, or a chunk of artwork that has captured one thing from one other dimension. Most folks, however horror followers particularly, love an excellent puzzle—we hunt down alternate cuts of our favourite style classics or share city legends.
